Over €115,000 Raised for GOSH!
For the 4th year running the Pirates has raised a treasure chest of money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital with a sell-out charity gala night to remember!

On Saturday 5th May 2007, residents of Mallorca and celebrity guests packed the Pirates Theatre in Magaluf to enjoy the latest production of the stage show which astounded, amazed and thrilled the audience.

Six child patients from Great Ormond Street were flown to Mallorca by Thomson Holidays to be the special guests of the evening and enjoy a week’s holiday. Celebrities of stage, screen, radio and the sporting world also joined in the fun including stars of Eastenders Patsy Palmer, Laurie Brett (who plays Jane Collins), Emma Barton (Honey Edwards), and Steve McFadden all taking to the stage. They were joined by Olympic medalist swimmer Sharron Davis, radio presenter Danny Baker and local celebrities Claire Sweeney and Nigel Benn who both have homes on the island.

During the charity auction over 70,000 euros was raised by items such as F.A. Cup Final tickets, ‘Concert For Diana’ tickets, a luxury cruise, two family holidays, sporting memorabilia and a unique charm bracelet designed just for Great Ormond Street. By the end of the evening over 100,000 euros had been raised with raffle and more auction funds still to be counted. The final total has come in at an astounding €115,546.33, once again a huge thank you to everyone who contributed.

Cherie Murphy from GOSH thanked everyone who had made the night possible and Andrew Clemence, Managing Director of Pirates, paid tribute to the cast, crew and the rest of the staff at Pirates for all the hard work and professionalism that resulted in a truly memorable event.
