Lexi's Story - Make a Wish Foundation

Nowadays the power of social media is a great way to spread messages and gain attention and support for all types of situations.

Just recently the story of Lexi Wooding was brought to our attention at Pirates via Facebook.

Lexi who was diagnosed with leukaemia and severe global development delay, had always wished to go on a family holiday to Mallorca!

The Make A Wish Foundation, a charity that grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses in the UK, ran an appeal online to raise funds to send Lexi and her family on holiday to Mallorca.

Five-year-old Lexi from Lincolnshire has faced challenge after challenge since birth, and going on a family holiday somewhere warm has been out of the question until now.

When we found out at Pirates, that Lexi’s wish had indeed been granted we wanted to step in and offer something which would help make their trip extra special and memorable. At Pirates, we realise how our product can bring such happiness and magic to young children, which is why we have also supported Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity for over 13 years.

On Wednesday 4th April, we invited Lexi and her family to VIP night at Pirates, where they enjoyed the show and met the cast and had a chance to get a photo backstage. We hope that this small gesture will have given the family some quality time together in which they can look back on with fond memories.

Thanks to everyone involved who has supported making Lexi’s wish come true!
